Glacier Square-Link Snow Tire Chains Review - 2011 Mercury Mariner

Today on our 2011 Mercury Mariner well be test fitting the Glacier Square Link snow tire chains, part number PWPLC1142, with tire size P225 65R17. To begin installing our chains well remove the chains from the packaging and lay them out flat. Well make sure we get any tangles out of the chains. Once weve done that well drape our chains over the tire, making sure that the cross chain links hook is facing toward the outside. Well move to the inside of the tire, where well connect the two ends of the side chain together, taking out as much of the slack within the side chain as possible.Well then move to the outside of the tire. Well feed the side chain link through the cam tensioner, again making sure that we take out as much of the slack as possible, and hook it to the chain link here attached to our side chain. more

Today on our 1995 Mercury Villager, well be Installing Glacier Tire Chains, part number PW1034. Well also be using the rubber tensioner, part number PW100. Now to begin our installation, youll first need to get your chains out, lay them flat on the floor, and remove any tangles. With that done, well need to identify the proper way for the chain to rest on their tire. Youll notice that each cross chain is attached to the side chain with the hook clamp. That hook clamp needs to face outward, away from the tire. more

Today on our 1995 Mercury Villager, well be installing the Glacier Square Link Snow Tire Chains, part number PWPLC1138. Now before installing our chains, well need to get them out of the packaging and lay them out flat, making sure we get out any kinks in the chain. We can now go ahead and lay our chains over the tire. In order to make sure that youre installing the chain correctly, you want to makes sure the hook of the cross chain attachment to the side chain is facing out. You also want to make sure that your tension lever is on the outside of the tire. With the chains draped over, well move to the inside of the tire where well connect the two side chain ends together. more
